Submit Programming

When uploading content to NCM you are authorizing NCM to place this on both local cable and on one of the NCM YouTube channels. Your video must not infringe on copyright laws.

Raw Content Submission

  • We ONLY accept raw content if we have specifically asked for it (for a project)

  • Phone footage is acceptable if filmed in landscape and on a high recording setting

  • Footage needs to be HD (High definition) 720 or 1080

  • Make sure the audio is decent quality

Video & Show Submission

  • A program (or video) must contain a title and some sort of credits.

  • What is an acceptable video to upload to NCM? Videos designed to be “watchable” by people in the community, that have an educational or entertaining element beyond just a YouTube video, and are without a commercial feel or “call to action”. The video must be a completed project (titles & credits).

  • Programs must begin with a message advising viewer discretion if they fall into these categories: (a) TV14 includes one or more of the following: intense violence, intense sexual situations, strong coarse language, or intensely suggestive dialogue, (b) TVMA includes graphic violence, explicit sexual activity, or crude indecent language.

  • Programs MUST be compliant content, which means it CAN NOT be commercial in nature or contain a “call to action”, or any material that is libelous, slanderous, or defamatory, or that is an unlawful invasion of privacy, violates state, federal or copyright laws. Content involving community health and safety must be vetted for accuracy by local public experts in those fields.

  • Programs submitted that contain violence, nudity, language or that is of opinion and a controversy nature MUST contain the proper messaging UPON submission.

  • TV Warning and “Not the Opinion of NCM” messages are available on the NCM YouTube Channel

  • Nevada County residents can submit content without being a member of  Nevada County Media. 

  • Submissions will be scheduled in as filler at the discretion of NCM staff.

  • Priority is given to government programs and programs produced by members within Nevada County.

  • Members should submit their shows at least two (2) weeks in advance.

  • Uploading content is the responsibility of the creator.

  • For those wishing to deliver their content in person, a free use of a computer is provided to facilitate the upload.

  • The program creator accepts full responsibility for the content of the program/series. The program creator is responsible for obtaining all necessary waivers from individuals appearing in the program/series. 

  • Members submitting a series need to sign a Program Submission Agreement, which states: agreeing to submit a specific number of programs on specific dates. Failure to provide two (2) programs on time or if technical or content problems exist, the result may be the loss of the regularly scheduled time slot. Staff will make notification if a show is in jeopardy.

  • NCM is not responsible for dropped off content or maintaining a copy of your programs.

  • Air times for individual programs are scheduled at the discretion of NCM staff. Every effort will be made to air your program on the date(s) and time (s) you request but no guarantee will be made.

  • NCM may re-broadcast any program at any time, use for non-commercial use, upload to NCMs Internet offerings and use excerpts for promotional purposes.

  • NCM reserves the right to pre-empt any program for the presentation of a “Special” production or another non-scheduled program.

  • The program creator MUST NOT represent themselves as NCM or that they are affiliated with NCM.

 

Upload Instructions

Step 1

Login to Telvue. Use the login information below. DO NOT CREATE AN ACCOUNT.

User: nctvupload
Password: upload104

*Make sure your filename is how you want it to appear to the public. Send us an email letting us know any details we should know.

Step 2

When you’re logged in, you’ll be on the dashboard. Navigate to the Media tab on the top bar.

Step 3

From there, simply drag and drop your video into the dotted line box to begin the upload process. It may take some time to upload depending on video quality, video duration, and local internet upload speed.

Step 4

Make sure your video is labeled EXACTLY how you want the public to see it OR with name if submitting for a project. DO NOT use acronyms (most won’t know what they mean). You can also fill in additional metadata (description, etc.) once the video is uploaded. Do that asap, these videos do not stay up here for long.

Step 5

Nevada County Media will take it from there!

NCM has the discretion to place all videos supplied onto their cable, YouTube, Twitch, Roku and Facebook channels. By submitting content to NCM you are agreeing to this.
